Justin & Selena Bring the Drama Amidst Another Break Up

Justin & Selena Bring the Drama Amidst Another Break Up

Bad news, Jelena fans. It looks like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have split once again. And could it be for good?

The drama reportedly started with a huge argument for the couple over the New Years holiday in Mexico. According to the Sun, the twosome fought like cats and dogs during what should have been a romantic trip.

One of the problems, apparently, was Justin tweeting numerous topless photos of himself with fans, rather than spending any time with Selena.

The fight was so intense, the newspaper said, that Selena jetted out of Mexico and back to the U.S. the very next day. Justin, not wasting any time, then headed to Los Angeles.

The holiday was planned for the couple to spend New Years together, but those plans were cancelled after the blowout.

“It’s just high school stuff,” a source told the paper about the nature of their conflict.

Selena, however, seems to have been putting the incident, and possibly the relationship behind her. She recently tweeted (https://twitter.com/selenagomez) “New beginnings, fresh start. I love you all” on New Year’s Day. She has also been posting pics with friends and family.

Justin, meanwhile, tweeted a less cheerful message to his followers. “2013 got some big things coming…. gonna stay positive.”

“Selena’s been giving him a really hard time,” the source for The Sun says. “She’s been partying without him, and it drives him crazy.”

The couple’s relationship had been shaky for a while now, following a brief breakup in November where Justin was allegedly seen on a date with Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin. Selena and Justin seemed to patch things up back then, but this time it looks like the split could be for good. The twosome have not seen each other since the New Year’s incident.

“They keep breaking up and getting back together,” says the source. “It’s an on-again, off-again relationship.”

Can Patrick Dempsey Take Down Starbucks?

Can Patrick Dempsey Take Down Starbucks?

It’s like something out of a movie: Handsome, blue-eyed leading man chases a dream to own his own business, takes on a corporate monolith…and wins! Yes indeed, if they ever make a film out of the tale of the coffee industry’s newest titan, we would suggest Patrick Dempsey as…Patrick Dempsey.

That’s right, the “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” star has won his bid to purchase Tully’s – the super-yummy but financially-distressed coffee chain that was being auctioned off as part of bankruptcy proceedings.

“We met the green monster, looked her in the eye, and…SHE BLINKED!” Dempsey tweeted last night, calling out coffee titan Starbucks while launching a shot across its bow. “We got it! Thank you Seattle!”

Soon after, the clearly-enthused new owner followed it up with this tweet: “Heading to Clyde Hill Tully’s now to meet employees and our customers. Very exciting.”

Dempsey reportedly paid a whopping $9.15 million for the coffee chain – which is almost as much as a Venti latte costs as Starbucks these days. But if McDreamy is serious about taking down the so-called “green monster,” he has a lot of work to do – Starbucks has more than 17,000 locations around the world, while Tully’s has 47.

Founded in 1992 in Seattle by Tom Tully O’Keefe, the founder retired in 2010 and the company filed for bankruptcy this past October. At one point, the company had more than 200 locations from Washington to Los Angeles, to Idaho, South Korea and Japan, but many of those stores seem to have closed since then.

Dempsey and his group, Global Baristas, beat a bid from Starbucks. In a statement, the son-to-be-47-year-old star said he is “thrilled” and “even more excited about saving Tully’s Coffee and its hundreds of jobs.”

Good luck to Patrick, the coffee is great so you’re already off on the right foot – here’s hoping your investment turns out better than Danny Glover’s french fries, Kenny Rogers’ chicken and your “Sweet Home Alabama” co-star Josh Lucas’ healthy fast food restaurants.

“Tully’s is a great company with committed employees, and with its base in Seattle, one of the world’s greatest cities, I’m confident we will be able to successfully build the brand and help grow the economy,” continued the actor, who got his start in teen movies like “Meatballs III” and “Can’t Buy Me Love” in the mid-Eighties. “Seattle has been very good to me over my career, and I am honored to have the privilege to own Tully’s and work closely with the company’s employees.”

Hot Viral Video: “Twilight” Star Urinates on Floor of Airport Lounge, Gets Tackled and Cuffed By Police

When someone is a working actor who has appeared in one of the most successful film franchises of his generation, it’s easy to assume that they’re on top of the world. But sometimes, events occur which show that they may not have their act together as much as we might think.

The latest example is “Twilight” star Bronson Pelletier – aka Jared, one of the “Wolf Pack” who back up Taylor Lautner’s Jacob in the films – who was arrested in the middle of last month for urinating in public at Los Angeles International Airport. That news may have tarnished his star a bit, but now comes even an even worse development – someone had their cell phone camera rolling, and now the 26-year-old actor is starring in a NSFW movie he undoubtedly wishes would just go away.

In the minute-long clip, a disheveled-looking Pelletier is confronted by a security guard, who seems to be telling him to sit down. Instead, out comes the little Pelletier – and soon urine is flowing all over those nice, clean carpets at LAX. Judging by the sound on the video, Bronson has a nice, steady stream and won’t be needing Flomax anytime soon – so at least he has that going for him. Oh and incidentally, we’ve been to LAX many times – and there are plenty of bathrooms everywhere, so it’s not like he was standing in a 20-people-deep Starbucks line in Manhattan and couldn’t find any other alternative.

In case you haven’t guessed by now, Bronson was arrested for public drunkenness. And it’s a good thing they got him before he was on the plane, or we may have had a new Gerard Depardieu on our hands.

While the helpless security guard on the video stands back and says “Sir!” repeatedly to no effect, the YouTube clip’s amateur photographer punctuates the pee with “Oh my God!” comments. The actor is then knocked to the ground by a uniformed police officer, who handcuffs him. Wow, seems like a leisurely stroll to the restroom would have made things much easier, Bronson, even if it would have been a stumbling one.

What do you think when you see someone so “successful” in Hollywood terms having such a public-meltdown moment? Is this the beginning of the end of Bronson’s Hollywood career? A cry for help? Or just another case of a Hollywood boy gone bad?

F-Bombs, Brawls and Drunken Rants: The Beauty of Jamie Kennedy’s Live NYE Television Show

F-Bombs, Brawls and Drunken Rants: The Beauty of Jamie Kennedy’s Live NYE Television Show

Recently, we had a conversation about the days of live TV and how much we miss it – aside from “Saturday Night Live” and the occasional news-related live report, it seems, there is very little opportunity any more for truly outrageous things to happen on the airwaves. Well, this definitely NSFW-clip might make you feel equally nostalgic for the days of no time delay – as well as scared for our future.

In Los Angeles, there’s a station named KDOC which apparently put together a completely live (and thoroughly under-publicized) New Year’s Eve show to compete with the more pre-fab affairs run by Carson Daly and Ryan Seacrest. But as you can see in this clip, New Year’s Ever revelry seems to have won out over things like professionalism, well-planned packages, and managed stage presentation.

From Jamie Kennedy’s lewdness to Shannon Elizabeth’s barely-more-than-a-cameo to Macy Gray’s confusion of 11:50 and 11:15 (seriously, did she not know what time she was going on?), saying that the celebs in the clip are phoning it in would be kind. Then there’s the “normal” people – all of whom capitalize on their 15 minutes by either swearing into the camera, mocking a reporter behind his back, or being too concerned with their cell phone to even notice that the star of “Son of the Mask” is attempting to converse with them.

In short, this whole clip is candy for the masses. There is nothing more compelling than pointing a camera at people and letting them sink-or-swim on their own accord, and it seems like Hollywood Blvd. required a lot of life preservers the other night.

Are we happy to see 2012 go? Will 2013 be a better year? Ultimately, the point seems moot – because at the this point, it’s safe to say that all we care about is waiting twelve more months to see whether KDOC repeats their live TV attempt as we go into 2014.

Ke$ha Opens Up About Pansexuality and Bullying

Ke$ha Opens Up About Pansexuality and Bullying

Ditching her usual glitter and grunge for some adorable, fluffy kittens, Ke$ha covers the February issue of Seventeen Magazine. And, while opening up about herself, the over-the-top pop star has some down-to-earth things to say about sensitivity.

Donning flowing, floral dresses and a bohemian look for the magazine’s photo spread, the “Tik Tok” star shows some range, even as her outrageous self shines through. Not only has her wardrobe changed for the shoot, but Ke$ha has some important things to say on topics other than partying and sparkles.

Addressing her haters, she says: “I used [negative comments] to motivate me then, and I still do.”

“I remember every person who told me I couldn’t do something, or that I was ugly or too fat,” she adds. “I have a ‘sh-t list’ – people from my past who have been soulless and judgmental. Even after I got through my awkward phase, got my braces off, and figured out how to dress my body, people in the music business were like, ‘You’re never going to make it.’”

According to Kes$ha, however, success is the greatest form of revenge. “I see [those people] now and I’m like, ‘Ha!’ That’s one of the reasons I named my record ‘Warrior.’ You can be a victim and let that eat your soul, or you can say, ‘You’re going on my list and I’m going to prove you wrong!’”

But not only does the rock-pop princess take a stand for herself, but she also shows support for all of her fans and so-called “animals” as well.

“I’m all about standing up to gay/lesbian/transgender bullying, but it’s also about my little brother,” she explained. “He’s 13 and he gets made fun of because he has a stutter. I just have zero tolerance for people making fun of others.”

It may come as no surprise that Ke$ha has strong feeling towards the LBTGQ community, but she identifies with them more than you might think. “I don’t love ‘just’ men. I love people,” she reasoned. “It’s not about a gender. It’s just about the spirit that exudes from that other person you’re with.”

Sure, Ke$ha may sing about drinking and underground parties, but she sure has a proper head on her shoulders. It’s not always easy to find an artist that creates fun, energetic music and at the same time appreciates the struggles of daily life for so many people.

A Modest Proposal to Kim and Kanye: Hide Your Baby Away

A Modest Proposal to Kim and Kanye: Hide Your Baby Away

Unless you’ve been living under a rock – or happily unplugged during the holiday season – you may have heard that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West announced their pregnancy just before the New Year. With Kim K. about 12 weeks pregnant, we at Nicerazzi would like to offer a heartfelt congratulations to the couple – as well as a modest proposal.

Kim and Kanye, hide your child away. Keep him or her as unfamous as possible. Make it your goal as parents to raise the child in as normal a household as possible. And then, when your baby is a reasonable age – say 16 or 18 – let it decide on its own if it wants to embrace the ups and down of fame.

The notion of sidestepping the baby’s impending fame may seem absurd – but please consider it, if only for the length of time it takes to read this editorial.

For starters, Kanye and Kim, you will soon learn the first hard truth of parenting: You’re no longer the most important person in your life. Once that tiny being appears, once he or she wraps its little fingers around your hand and looks to you for guidance through the enormous, complex world it was just born into, you’ll feel it intensely, most likely for the first time. Self-preservation (and self-publicity) will fall way down the ladder – suddenly, every decision should be informed by what is best for the child.

As entertainment journalists, we’re not supposed to write editorials like this. Nothing is more mouth-watering to us than a solid decade of click-fodder like “Kim and Baby Go Clothes Shopping,” “Kanye Takes Baby to the Park,” and the like, all accompanied of course by plenty of pictures. But, like you, we are human beings and realize that if we can’t correct our behavior for the sake of a newborn baby, what good are we?

Imagine this scenario instead: Since both of you already have plenty of money and fame to spare, after the child’s birth you cut back your “work days” by half. Kanye tours less, Kim insists that if her media ventures continue, they’ll have to do so with her only being present half as much. Instead, you both focus your efforts on being in this child’s life far more than the average American parent gets to be. No pictures are sold – or encouraged to be taken – of the child. There are no reality shows. When reporters inevitably ask you about the baby, you make your answer as dry and uninteresting as possible: “Yes, the baby is fine. We love it very much and respect a most basic human need: Its ability to grow up in private.”

Or, there is the alternative: A life spent with nannys and caregivers, missing parents who choose awards shows, “the road” or reality show tapings over precious, vital moments at home in sweatpants, playing with Lego toys and watching “Caillou.” An adolescence where every trip to the jungle gym or toy store results in flashbulbs going off and scary strangers screaming at their parents. Their first words being “TMZ” rather than “Mommy” or “Daddy.” Next thing you know, it’s Lindsay Lohan time.

A retreat from the public eye could indeed occur, if you both were to determined to make it happen. If you’re boring about your parenting details, the media will eventually go away. The buzz will die down, and the paparazzi will move on to another celebrity instead who gives them what they want. You’ll be viewed instead as trendsetters, strong parents who chose the well-being of a child over an opportunity to amplify your own fame.

And, when the child is old enough to look back at this time – to read the headlines and reflect on what his or her parents did – imagine the respect he or she will have for you. Imagine the life-long lessons you will have taught it about priorities, family, and the importance of keeping things in perspective.

There is one thing we all know: When this child is born, it will be a blank slate, an empty canvas. What will you make of it? How much will you allow the dark side of fame to exploit and harass it into a life of fear, confusion and the prevailing mindset that unless there’s a camera being pointed at it, what it’s doing doesn’t matter?

Enjoy being parents, Kim and Kanye – these can be the greatest days of your life. We look forward to seeing what kind of parents you turn out to be – and we wouldn’t mind at all if we learned very, very little actual information about the baby itself.

New Year’s Tragedy – Paparazzi Shooting Justin Bieber Pics Killed, As Singer Calls For Laws to Protect Celebs

New Year’s Tragedy – Paparazzi Shooting Justin Bieber Pics Killed, As Singer Calls For Laws to Protect Celebs

While we hate to open 2013 writing about a tragedy, there are some instances that deserve coverage if only to try and prevent such sad events from happening again. One such fatal event has occurred, and it unfortunately revolves around the chaotic celebrity of Justin Bieber.

Last night on Los Angeles’ 405 freeway, a paparazzo attempting to get photos of the teen singing sensation was killed when an SUV slammed into him.

Apparently, the photographer was following Justin Bieber’s Ferrari on the evening of New Year’s Day when he saw police pull the vehicle over, off the 405. After exiting his vehicle and attempting to take more pictures, he was returning to his car on police orders when he was reportedly struck. He died from his injuries later that night at nearby Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

In a bit of tragic irony, the pop singer wasn’t even in the car – it was instead being driven by a few of his friends. Bieber, however, did release a statement, extending his prayers to the family of the victim, and touching upon the sad circumstances. “Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation,” he stated “and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.”

The controversy over safety and the paparazzi has long been a hot-button issue, as there seems to be no clear line-in-the-sand. While some celebrities have been able to carve out quiet and private lives for themselves (and even use the photographers to promote good deeds), there are others that are consistently hounded and one has to wonder when enough will be enough.

Hopefully, it won’t take more of these tragedies for some sort of action to take place. With the start of the New Year, let’s try to remember to treat ourselves and each other, including all the celebrities we adore, with respect; it’s one resolution we all can keep.

The Katt Williams Saga Gets More Strange, As Comedian Is Arrested Again – At Subway?

The Katt Williams Saga Gets More Strange, As Comedian Is Arrested Again – At Subway?

Katt Williams definitely has some explaining to do. On Thursday night, the comedian was arrested again, this time he inside a Subway sandwich store. Making matters even bizarre, reports are surfacing that Williams was arrested while waiting for hip hop kingpin Suge Knight to finish getting a manicure.

Katt, 39, was at a West Hollywood Subway when the police were called to the scene because of an unknown disturbance. There are no facts yet about who Williams was disturbing but his presence, as of lately, has become a disturbing one in and of itself. After arriving on the scene, the police took Katt into custody, then later released the comedian.

It was also reported that Katt had marijuana and a gun in his possession. Both confiscated items were given back to Katt, however, as the comedian has a medical marijuana license and a permit to carry his gun.

What makes Suge’s involvement in the story bizarre is that Suge, now Katt’s manager, is also the co-founder and former CEO of Death Row Records. In the 90’s, DRR churned out hardcore rap hits like triple platinum “The Chronic” and made stars out of such artists such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, 2Pac, and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez.

TMZ has exclusive footage of the comedian, beginning with him sitting in the back of a police car. After emerging from the car, Williams tells his side of the story: “I was stopped (by the police) for being black,” he says half-jokingly, we think. “I make over $200,000 for a comedy show and I work for an hour. How easy is my life supposed to be?” he added. “Whatever a regular black guy gets, I get that.”

Earlier this week, footage was released that showed Williams slapping a Target employee in the face. The comedian then explained that he was violent with the young man seen in the surveillance video because he was called the “N-Word.” Huffington Post reports: “The actor claims he told the employee to repeat the word and see what happens, which is when he slapped [the employee], who was fired shortly after the incident.”

It has been quite a serious month for the funnyman. On December 3rd, Katt allegedly threatened a bar manager with a pool cue and later threw a cigarette at a women, hitting her in the eye. The following day, December 4th, Williams was removed from a Sacramento hotel in Seattle. On December 7th, the comedian was detained outside of Sacramento stemming from an outstanding warrant stemming from a November reckless driving incident.

Going back just a month, in November the comedian’s assistant sued him for allegedly assaulting her at his home. Let’s hope – for his sake and those of others – that Williams gets himself back under control.

Reese Witherspoon Offers Support to Naomi Watts in Touching Letter – But Will it Result in an Oscar?

Reese Witherspoon Offers Support to Naomi Watts in Touching Letter – But Will it Result in an Oscar?

As if Reese Witherspoon needed any more reason to be considered the delightful and adorable person that she is, an unusual letter written to fellow actress Naomi Watts praising her work in the new film “The Impossible” has hit the web. In the letter she shared with Entertainment Weekly just as the Academy Awards nomination frenzy is heating up, the 2006 Best Actress winner heaps accolades onto Watts’ performance as a woman caught up in the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami in such a heartfelt way one can’t help but wonder if it could help land Watts a nod in the fiercely competitive category.

Comparing Watts’ work in the film to other groundbreaking female performances like Meryl Streep in “Sophie’s Choice” and Sally Field in “Norma Rae,” Witherspoon comments how she “could not speak for 24 hours after seeing the film. It was more than a movie. It was a meditation on life and family and humanity. It was fortifying.”

“Your brutal physical performance, the ferocity of your mothering spirit and the soul touching moments where you hold on to life with every part of your being were incredible,” she continues in the letter.

Life has been treating Witherspoon pretty well this past year, so it makes sense that she would be more than willing to pay it forward. Not only did she marry entertainment agent Jim Toth in March of last year (donning a very “Elle-Woods”-pink dress, I might add), but the couple also added a new bundle of joy to their brood, son Tennessee, in September. The bouncing baby boy joins Witherspoon’s 2 other children, Ava and Deacon, from her first marriage to Ryan Phillippe.

And while the young mother may be taking a step back from acting to focus on family for the time being, it’s quite clear her adoration for fellow acting colleagues has not diminished. We love you Reese! Your super-cute offer to “tap dance on Sunset Boulevard” in support of Naomi is probably not necessary though; with nominations from both the Screen Actors Guild awards and the Golden Globes, we’re pretty sure Naomi’s got an Oscar nom in the bag.
